Dallas-based Oncor utility crews receive instructions from their supervisors, then roll out in a truck caravan for Lousiana and Gustav storm repairs. About 200 Oncor employees and contractors returned to Louisiana on Sept.3, almost three years to the day after Hurricane Katrina knocked out power in the same region. Oncor is assisting Central Louisiana Electric Company with hurricane restoration for the second time. Oncor and CLECO, as well as other utilities across the U.S., pledge to assist each other during emergencies to restore power faster.
