@MrMairt Thats a UH10LC Hitachi that you ran aka UH121LC the UH122 and UH123 also were in there. The "10" stands for 1.0m3 bucket or "121" stands for "1.22 yd3" bucket. these are factory digging bucket ratings by Hitachi japan. Around a 25 ton machine. The controls you ran were Japan Domestic controls, a lot of Japan imports ran those controls, an easy fix to change some hyd pilot lines around on the joystick, and your off and running whatever pattern you want.
UH121 was offered 1983-1986

Cool Machine. Cool video. I never seen one of these before here in Europe. I used to operate a Hitachi UH121 with the same controls it slewed by moving leaver up and down not left to right(left stick) the right one was also different. It was air assisted. Does anyone know how much they weighed. I now drive a cat 330d with 3D GPS Accugrade. We have come a long way. Great video. I like old Hitachi great diggers.

We have one in the yard near our house. It's next to a Hitachi EX400 but this machine is huge

anybody know what motor (or motors) would be in that?
Nice machine.....I bet the roadbuilder set-up add 10 tons of weight to that!!!!
It was powered by 2 isuzu engines.
Back in its days, it was a direct competitor to the Cat 245.
I've saw one parked in the yard of the Cat dealership in Quebec city, back in 1993.I spent at least 1 hour steering at it, not moving, being in total amazment.....
Thanks for posting.
