I would probably not leave the boots on for more then two weeks. I have left them on longer but my horses hoof grows very fast and he needs a trim after two. I typically leave them on for a weeks at a time, for conditioning on hard surfaces or for a race. Hoof wall is like your finger nail, no problem sanding or roughing it up a little.

How long do they stay on? Does roughing up the hoof wall damage the hoof in any way?
