@w0wt3kg0s >I think she was playing way too fast.
Je ne suis pas de cet avis (= I don't think so.):
1er movement - Allegro 3:29
2eme movement - Andante 6:35
3eme movement - Allegro Assai 3:14.
I think the second movement is too slow, even for "Andante". Schroeder with the AAM play this in 5:06 and they don't sound too fast.

She always leaves me in awe anyway, but the perception of speed might be more from the orchestra here. I love Gergiev too, but i think in this case there's some dimension lacking that makes it seem rushed. At faster speeds the rhythmic lilt really needs even more emphasis to give it enough breathing space. That said - hair-splitting, y'know..? <:

i take that back, kennedy plays faster than this
-
dare i say, same speed as nigel kennedy plays it. im sure some people here would hate the comparison... but im just only talking about the speed.

Usually, I prefer authentic performances on period instruments but I love this! Anne Sophie Mutter is amazing and brilliant!

too fast !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Praise God for this music, nothing can top the version by David Oistraikh and his brother. Nothing, not even Frau Mutter with her feminine handsomeness.
