Actually, no. There are no new characters in between XL and normal DW5, but XL has different gameplay modes. There's no story/Musou mode but there is Legends mode (extra stages), Xtreme mode (like a survival mode) and Destiny mode (like a 'career' mode where you create your own soldier, take orders from generals, get promoted etc.)

Shu would rock if Guan Yu and Guan Ping had normal or heavy weight 4th weapons and if Pang Tong and Xing Cai had better movesets and charges.

Besides, the best generals of Shu in Chaos difficulty are ones you've neglected to mention. Ma Chao owns with or without a horse. Zhuge Liang and Huang Zhong are phenomenally safe if jump chargers are used properly.

Lu Xun's C3 is the most damaging in the game with the exception of Lu Bu's. Da Qiao and Xiao Qiao both use a pair of Heavy 4th weapons which are 125% normal weapon strength (and therefore 50% more power than Guan Yu and other light weapon users) and have the added bonus of hitting twice per press of the square button. Gan Ning's musou can kill a frozen general in under a second.

I would say that Zhou Yu and Sun Ce are pretty crap. They both have no damage at all and suck in playing for chaos mode, except Zhou Yu is a little better since he's fast.

No way I'm probably one of the best players in this game since I can beat any five star stage on chaos with every character, the problem with these Wu characters are that most of them have a very low damage which means lower defense, and the weapons that they are given in the game also makes them so suck.

I suck at using wu that means I can even suck at the whole game, but I'm not because every character in this game has the same key attacks which is fair unlike samurai warriors, so you suck!

Guan Yu and Zhang Fei are pretty crap. Guan has a Light 4th weapon and therefore deals about 75% normal damage. i don't remember what Zhang's 4th weapon is like, but his moveset is horrible anyway.

Did you know Da Qiao with her 4th weapon does more damage than any other character in the game? Wu characters aren't all bad.
