One of the best 'white' soul singers? What is that?.......Larry bird was one of the best white basketball players?......ha....Paul Carrack is a great singer even if he was green or purple. He writes songs that sound like the classic Motown stuff. A great artist.....

Paul is old school - he can sing, play all the instruments including drums, guitar and Hammond B3 AND he is a great songwriter in his own right. He is paying his dues here to the boss, Marvin Gaye but really he belongs in the same group of artistes... and I fear we wont see the likes of them ever again. As Phil Collins once said, Paul could sing the yellow pages and it would still sound fantastic !! Mr Collins is a big fan of pauls aswell
