@AmericanEvita I actually think he's great as a Don Giovanni as well. He pulls off the entire smooth operator-act with stunning naturality. Check out the clip where he sings La Ci Darem la Mano with Hei-Kyung Hong. He just eats her up. Don Giovanni should of course be a villain, but more so an extremely charming and handsome one. Maybe it's because I'm a guy, but I think one should also feel a certain degree of envy towards Don Giovanni.

He missed more than a few spots. :\

Bryn Terfel is a marvelous Figaro. I love him as Figaro but not as Don Giovanni. Nothing against his singing, it's glorious, but his physical appearance - big and jolly with a wide face and cute nose, a Santa Claus type of face, is suited to a character like Figaro, who is a good guy, a direct opposite to Giovanni who is a total villain. Terfel has a sweetness to him. He was also marvelous as Jochanaan in Salome.

@jacky25511 In opera a lot of lines are repeated, and to put subtitles over and over again saying the same thing tends to distract from the music. Putting subtitles on an opera is a subtle art form. You want to put enough so that people can understand what's going on and get the mood of the text, but you don't want to put so much that it distracts from the music. All of the text is here, but every line isn't necessary. This is especially true for Mozart.
Best Figaro and Susanna of our times.
