Let me just say I agree this economic crisis is the perfect tool to grab power. But I have trouble seeing how global warming is a political tool.
If everyone on earth behaves the way North Americans do in terns of carbon foot print we will have to deal with many problems much more serious than some flooding. Mostly health issues.
The point is regulations are not evil they encourage innovation. If you don't innovate you lose. That's why Japan is dominating the car industry. Efficiency = $.

yes, we should address real threats. carbon based, man-made global warming theory exists only to enslave us moreso with taxes and more regulations. it's obscene.

To be fair he didn't exclude HARRP from things that could cause global warming. He's just talking very broadly.
I think as intelligent beings we should explore all threats to our planets ecology.
Also your statement is sadly an empty one. You are not bringing any solid information and are simple discounting another problem (carbon emissions) without actually giving any real comparative data.
