I don't know why they don't understand that as Americans we would either A) like to be cleared of allegations of murder by torture or B) prosecuting those that ordered the torture that led to murder.

There HAS to be an investigation to find out which of those will be the case. That goes for illegal wiretapping too.

It would go a long way to restoring our good name around the world if we did go after those that ordered torture.

Electing Obama is a good first step. After all, having a thoughtful intelligent leader who uses rational thought is far more preferable to, well, the alternative.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Could it be possible to get someone to offer Bush an insane amount of money to "speak" and then nab him as an International War Criminal should he be stupid enough to go? And couldn't Canada do that if they had the balls?

I'm sure that's Obama's secret dream. Make that someone else's problem. Can't say it was a political hatchet job even though Americans clearly want at least an investigation into all the shady shit Bush did.

Wait to see if he goes to speak in Spain. They have a much more impressive record on grabbing international criminals.

I love my country, but I seriously doubt Canada has the balls to charge him.

But on a serious note, if ANYONE should be hauled before a war crimes tribunal, Cheney should be first. Once he gets home he should be shot for what he did to the American constitution.

Our leadership has their instructions... unfortunately, those instructions have little to do with fixing the system of justice as it applies to our ruling class. If you are the ruling class you are off scot free. If you are a dirty average American you will have the full force of the law thrown at you and be locked up in one of our fraudulent prisons-for-profit.
