P.S. I had no one calling out the routine.
This is my first dressage show: Training level tests @ the Double Diamond Equestrian Center (which is absolutely gorgeous) in Boerne, TX on November 15, 2008. I got first place on the first test with a score of 65.72 (which is really good for a beginner!) and that won me the Jr. High Point champ award. I sort of panicked going into the second test, so that one did not go so well. I also lost my stirrup going into the canter, but that was quickly resolved (but at the expense of the circle looking wonky!) and I got a 61.02 with that test, which is a so-so score. It could've been worse!
That was a thumbs up I gave at the end of the first test.
Mister Slugger, an Appendix Quarter Horse, was an amazing horse to ride. He wasn't spooky, as it was very windy that day and one rider was disqualified because her horse spooked twice on her and several others had behavior problems with their horses as well because of the wind, and he was just totally sweet. He was a bit flighty going into the arena, but not very bad, he actually was a bit too calm sometimes! But he was wonderful nonetheless!
Thanks to everyone who supported me during lessons and during the show, and especially to my instructor and her gorgeous gelding!
Great ride! Congrats! I am about to start dressage again after a 9 year break. And im 26 lol. Havent done dressage since I was a teen :)

Good luck! I took a six-month break from dressage because of some other things and I was pretty rusty even after that, so 9 years would be interesting to see.

Good job! My Appendix gelding and I are about to start dressage lessons. I hope he does well like your gelding did :)

Thanks! Good luck to you both! It's nice to see some other breeds like Appendix QHs out in the ring. In the "Dressage Today" magazine, they had a mustang win several training level tests!
Once again, good luck to you and your gelding.
