EDIT: To people who found this video and want to open their aluminum remote: SORRY!!! haha, I can't figure that one out!
---
I washed my Apple Remote, so I had to open it up and let it dry. Here's how to put one back together so you can see what's inside and take it apart easier.

  • WHY WOULD YOU SHOW IN REVERSE

  • @SomeRandomIrishGuy BECAUSE I DIDN'T RECORD MYSELF FUMBLING WITH IT FOR TWO HOURS TRYING TO FIGURE IT OUT AS I WENT ALONG. I ONLY STARTED RECORDING WHEN IT WAS TIME TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND I KNEW WHERE EVERYTHING WAS AND HOW IT WORKS.

WHY WOULD YOU ASK IN ALL CAPS? :3

  • Is the menu button able to pop out? I have my broken iPod Touch's home button and its the exact same size and I wanted to... you know... hax my remote! :)

Also, what size screwdriver did you use on the first long screw? Mine won't come out. >:(

    (Sizes #1 OR #0!!!)

  • If I can remember correctly, the button doesn't come out.... at least, not easily... Then again, this was a while ago now and I never tried to take the button apart.

I think I may have used a 00 screwdriver. Again, it was a long time ago now...

  • how do you get the grey plasitc piece out

    ?

  • Slide something thin, yet sturdy under the top (side with controls) or bottom (side with the Apple logo) side of the little grey spring button. I used one side of my tweezers (the other side was outside the remote entirely). This will allow you to depress one of the catches and pull the piece out.

Then unscrew the screw beneath it and pull the white spring button with tweezers or pliers to get the grey battery compartment out. Then push the rest of the grey plastic out the top.

  • I cannot figure out how the innards get put into the newer unibody aluminum apple remote. The thing's got no seams or openings. IT'S WITCHCRAFT I TELL YA!!! APPLE HAS HIRED WITCHES!!! 

  • I guess I'm out of luck for my Aluminum xD It's $19.00, lasted me long enough (:

  • wtf is this music?

  • Thanks, I couldn't find the screw under the spring. :-)

  • You're the MAN - Perfect Thanks

  • it just automatically connects using an inferred port on your Mac
