The best war time journalist I've encountered is Jonathan Pilger. He has the full conscious journey sussed out. He brimms with both compassion and knowledge of the whole subject from the Corupt Governments down to the grunt on the ground. He is a must see. Check out his great films and articles and indeed youtube clips.
