@crouchingmole may i asked wher eu elarn from?

steel fan is way more difficult to use than bamboo or wood. in the open position it is used to block vision, parry and strike.

@rexonaforwomen the open fan is more a distraction unless you have one with full metal ribs that are sharpend for slashes. The metal ones are also an excellent han bo or stick/jitte and can snap a wrist easilly.
The most overlooked aspect of a fan is that you can carry one anywhere without raising concern over carring a weapon-worth its weight in gold in most countries

im sure you can use your mind on what advantages the fan can bring, i would think it could easily be used to distract, since some can be made with wood and metal ribs in closed position can hit tight points of the body, slap a bad cell out of you, and im sure over time the weight and movements used can help to strengthen the wrist...... anything can be beneficial if you know how to approach... go outside prick a thousand leaves off a tree and see if you would feel a difference...

Let's assume you would enter a combat situation with a fan, you would basically use it as a wooden (or metal) stick right? Or is there any advantage to unfolding it at all? By the way, I really can't evaluate what you're doing in the video but it looks fantastic :)

Unfortunately i have little respect for the fan displays i've found around youtube. Is it meant to be performance, or combat efficient?
Now don't call be a keyboard warrior, i acknowledge that i'm sitting in a chair while typing this, but i could improvise all the moves she does here with a teddy bear.

@GameBeard Hi mate - thanks for watching and commenting. To answer your question it's more performance, although it has it's origins in combat.
You are of course absolutely a keyboard warrior unless you prove otherwise. So let me ask if you would be so kind as to improvise the moves or some of your own with or without a teddy bear and film the results for the youtube community to observe. Unless of course you can't be bothered, are too busy etc. Most people just talk and NEVER do... Over to you
