The thing I don't get is why Sasuke threw all those kunai with explosive tags and then just stood there while Itachi closed in on him- it was obvious that Itachi was struggling to get even remotely close to Sasuke, and also obvious that Sasuke had no way to fight. In that situation it would be best to get as much distance from Itachi as possible or he'd take Sasuke's eyes right? It just doesn't make sense why Sasuke would just stand there like stupid XD

It's because Sasuke used Kirin the most powerful lightning jutsu he has, but is shocked at how itachi is still alive, thats why.

@Narutofan9663 well, I mean that it's obvious that Itachi wouldn't be able to fight so all Sasuke should've done is conserve his energy to keep distance between them- for every inch Itachi moves, Sasuke should've kept that distance instead of freezing in fear.
