Mick Dodson is a self-described trouble maker who wasted no time raising some issues he thinks the country should be talking about.
Top of the list, whether today (Australia Day, 26 Jan '09) is the most appropriate one to celebrate our national day.
Professor Dodson is a member of the Yawuru people from the Broome area of Western Australia.
Currently he's the director of the National Centre for Indigenous Studies at the ANU (Australian National University) and is co-chair of Reconciliation Australia.
He was also co-author of the 1997 Bringing Them Home Report on the Stolen Generations.
