right handed people use RU moves (right and up) to solve the cube, therefore, they must use the left hand to solve it one handed, beeing that it is easier to do right and up moves with the left hand rather than the right hand.
in blindfolded cubing there are 2 stages, memo (memorization) and execution (solving it blind). The memorization is the hardest and most important of all stages, and for most people it takes a long time (1-5 minutes). it doesnt make sense to use those 15 seconds
