Apologize - (Feat. Zack, Aerith, & Cloud)

Here's the video I entered in TheonlyDoylie Contest Numbah 2. The topic of said contest? Simple: BETRAYAL.

I thought nothing really fit betrayal more than Cloud crushing on Aerith after Zack died fighting for both of them. So... here is a delightful little story on this video (slightly AU):

Aerith and Zack are happily in a relationship, and are nearly inseparable. However, being a First Class SOLDIER challenges Zack's schedule with Aerith. When he introduces Cloud to her on his vacations to spend, his blonde buddy begins to start feeling a little more than friendly for Aerith. Since he has more time off than Zack, being a lowly ShinRa grunt, Cloud spends more and more time with Aerith; strengthening a relationship that was never supposed to be...

Aerith sends Zack few letters (which are shown to him by Angeal) declaring she no longer loves him as he never has the time to visit her anymore. Instead, she claims that she and Cloud started a relationship--ending hers with Zack. The 1st Class SOLDIER is NOT happy.
Zack at first thinks it's a joke--denial is never a pretty phase. He expects an apology from either Cloud or Aerith to prove his theory right... and never receives one. Angered and upset, Zack attacks Cloud, pushing him down to the floor in jealousy. He mentions everything he's done for the blonde, saved him, taken shots for him, everything.

Cloud starts to understand. Though he doesn't realize he needs to apologize until Zack has left him to talk with Aerith.

It goes smoother with the two ex's. Zack basically tells her that everything he thought she was--an angel, an important part of his life--she wasn't. When she tries to hug him, he doesn't respond; he just stays quiet, silently crying on the inside while keeping a strong countenance.

Finally, Zack is just too over-whelmed to think straight. He has lost Angeal, due to circumstances where he had failed to concentrate. And now he has fallen--decorated in blood and bullets--again for Cloud, as a way of apologizing for his behavior and to remind him of their friendship. The latter SOLDIER never does get to express how sorry he is as Zack dies seconds afterwards. After much contemplating in the church, Aerith draws to the same conclusion, but her Mother tells her that "I'm sorry. Someone you love dearly has been sent to the Lifestream". Facing the sad truth, Aerith just hopes that Zack returns to the Planet unharmed, safe, and happily...

And he does.

(DONE-- Cookies for those who read it! xD;;) It's a bizarre story, but it made sense when I was making the video. ^^;
