Demonstration how my wood storage shelf rolls out to insert and remove long pieces of lumber. It stores stock that is longer than would typically fit on a shelf with braces in the middle like this. It is built from 1 x 10s and a couple of 2 x 4s with two sets of casters. The casters are the non-pivoting variety, with two 150 pounders in the middle and two 300 pounders on the end. 3/4" galvanized pipe with a tee and floor flanges are used to make the hinged end.

  • That's a cabinet, not a shelf.
