It's sad? Well, relatively thinking- if the guy still cares for her, yes. But after 10 years, he may not care for her anymore... especially if he broke up w/ her. If it was a bad break up he may have not wanted to talk to her ever again.

Sad story, but I can't help but think it might be a wise-old tale. Like 'The boy who cried wolf' or something.
Like "Don't separate yourself from others, because then no one will know what happens to you." or something.

well, i mean he never will, but I guess Vince is trying to talk about if you spent 10 years of your life wife somebody and then they suddenly vanish, you would probably be very sad not knowing whatever happened to them.
