This is my version of a scarf I saw in Alloy magazine.
Alloy sales it for $16.50+s&h, I made this scarf for $6.98. If you didn't own any needles it still would be cheaper and you wouldn't have to pay shipping and handling.
You just need to allow sometime for making it, if you're new to knitting.

I will have more to this "Pink Project", so stay tuned.

  • Are you knitting and purling thru the back loop of your stitches that are on the needle?

  • @mussopman Yes. I wrap the yarn over instead of under. I feel, especially when you do ribbing, that it holds tighter leaving no room for gaps.

  • Check out the first video that I posted teaching you how to cast on, knit and purl. That could help. Thanks

  • Thank you so much for not going fast and for being so detailed in you work

  • @YAPOWER3 - There are some great knitting tutorials on YouTube. And Eastern European Knitting is easier than what is shown on this video which is English / American style where they 'throw' the yarn and it's slow and cumbersome. There's a tutorial on Eastern European Knitting here on You Tube.

  • @YAPOWER3 - There are a lot of knitting tutorials for beginners on You Tube. Check out "Eastern European Knitting", It's an easier and faster way of knitting than the instructor of this video is doing. When I taught myself to knit last year, I went out and bought straight needles until I found it awkward and began investing in circular needles when I found I could do both "straight - type" knitting and knitting in the round on circular needles. I do all my knitting on circular needles now.
