the problem today is: the faith that we know from the bible is no longer socially acceptable. So what we need to do is to socialize the faith. When we do that all people can become christians and noone needs to go to hell.

@marvel4613 Interesting. I like how you say God makes it defensive or offensive. That's a good way to think. But I think as believers *our* objective is to walk and defend, pretty much. If the Lord wants to blind some one here and there, that's His business not ours. What I mean is that our goal should be firstly focused on our own walk with God, not necessarily blinding people.

@bluesette82 Splitting the sea was def. and became off..Defensive shields of battle became offensive when they were shined like mirrors to blind their enemy. The most powerful weapon, I think, was Jesus Christ. He lived a defensive life but died an offensive death. He conquered death so we don't have to die to be saved. So, wheather it's a shield,sandals,helmet,breastpl­ate,sword,etc. If God wants it to be a defensive or offensive weapon, who's to say no... Peace2u
