I think it was just the way you expressed your opinion. It is, as others have said, and even yourself, an opinion. So the added "I play both so I know" didn't really let others see it as opinion. Add the fact that instead of saying "I prefer" or something, you just said "It's greater than this one" pretty much makes others think you're just being a bias asshole instead of someone expressing an opinion.
Dug your own hole with that one. Then trolled people who were rightly angry.
