@supascoopa84 I agree. I have been playing bass for seven months and know about 40 songs, none of which were learned with tab. I also jam with my band, and play songs that I've never heard before just by listening. After a while, the key that a piece of music is in becomes very obvious. Each key has it's own sound, then scales are just moods, like phrygian dominant sounds playfully mysterious, and lydian sounds alien and spacey.

agreed... i played half of my muse songs by ear... although yet to put up vids yet :S
