I was never a fan of Regine...and I never actually watched her perform concentrating on her performance.

But I didn't hate her or anything...I guess at the time she was getting all the attention, I was just not with the majority of people who cared.

But now that I've actually listened to her once again after a looooong time...she IS great.

He range is amazing...the pitch!

And I believe she's still this great (unless I'm mistaken?) unlike Mariah who doesn't have a voice anymore. :'P

So its like using several non uniform benchmarks. It would be fair to compare singers using only one benchmarks say US Billaboard, or UK . The world chart is even subject to debate for its not a complete list of countries of the globe. According to UNITED WORLD CHART, NO MARIAH ALBUM was included in TOP 100 ALBUMS OF ALL TIME. Even Mariah's SINGLE only made it to number 34. Regine is one of the fans of Mariah so don't bash Regine. Singing Butterfly is a declaration of Regine's love for Mariah. @ zanoases, and to all Filipinos who hate Regine, hello? Both are artists and Regine herself is a fanatic of Mariah. She just sang her idol's song. That's it. You are all war-freaked! hahaha. Brian McKnight said that Regine is ,to him, one the greatest singers he had ever met in his life. Coming from a soul singer himself..So war-freaks ,come on!

@tofuman1000 It's not a black style of singing. It's a soulful style that blacks are predispositioned to be good at! It's in their vocal chords just as they are more athletic on average, they also have more dynamic voices. True stuff.
