In the third segment of my interview with the Magnificent Josho, we chat about why he quit Sierra, his masterpiece Callahan's Crosstime Saloon, what went wrong with King's Quest 8, and much, much more.

  • Oh man I am loving this interview. One of my favorites you've done. I love hearing about all these adventure games. I would love for you to get more people like this on. Maybe Jane Jensen?

  • @KyoshoBallard Hehe...I was all set up to interview her many months ago, but then she went off my radar and stopped responding to my emails. I'm guessing it might have something to do with the negative reception of Gray Matter.

  • Great episode. Since you will be interviewing the makers of Frayed Knights, I think it would be nice to do the same to the team working on Legend of Grimrock, a dungeon crawler inspired by Eye of the Beholder and Dungeon Master which will be released by the end of this year.

  • @RyuRanXII Sounds like fun to me. Thanks for the tip. I love interviewing the indie guys; they seem more eager to talk and aren't as hard to get hold of.

  • Oh god, a Belgariad game? I would've loved to play an Adventure game based on Eddings' works :(

  • @indonaldismoveritas I'm a fan of Tolkien, Robert Jordan, George R. R. Martin, and Weiss & Hickman. How does Eddings compare to them?

  • When I watch an interview, I always have the feeling they just interview other persons, because they get paid for it and don't care about the persons they interview. Or with other words: It feels "soulless".

But that's NOT the case on those interviews here, they have a lot of soul.

Keep up the awesome job, Matt!

  • You keep asking very educated and "In the know" questions in these interviews. That's awesome. It's what keeps me subscribed and donating. I'm learning things here i would never have been able to dig up myself! Keep going!

  • @KyoshoBallard Greatest ending ever!

  • Great interview Mate and I do agree with Josh, the games industry now is lacking original ideas and allot of CEO's whom run these company's with hardly any experience or knowledge about games just see profit. Which is understandable but it can stop allot of good development company's from making brilliant games.

  • Matt, is Josh familiar with Telltale Games? They seem to really care about the craft and not just the bottom line.

  • @blacklily8 Favorably. Although he didn't write only fantasy, the fantasy novels he wrote were great. If you like Raymond E. Feist, you will probably like David Eddings as he is usually compared to him and vice versa because of their similar styles. I would also say that he is comparable to Terry Brooks, But that's my opinion. The Belgariad and The Malloreon series of novels are great though and I personally believe these series deserve the attention of all fantasy fiction fans.

  • suprised u dont get more hits dude

  • point and click was awesome, nowadays the only only people that seem ti care about an adventure are the designers at Bethesda with the elder scrolls series

  • Awesome interview is awesome. Faaaantastic!
