Him Huy was a farmer before he joined the Khmer Rouge as a young revolutionary.

He became a guard at S-21, the Phnom Penh prison where thousands were detained and tortured. But when the Khmer Rouge began eradicating its own members he began having second thoughts.

He tells Al Jazeera his story.

That's just nasty, the average Cambodian are the most genuine race of the world, (think of Dith Pran as an example) a big difference between a Khymer and a Khymer Rouge. It's weird though, most Kymer Rouge soldier's appearances look innocent, belying their savagery totally. Brainwashed.

The extreme weakness in the personality is shown: "But why kill your own people." -- same thing today, many Muslims are turning against the Muslim terrorits because they are killing their own kind; which is by implication, then--for both Kymer and Muslim--that, if they would kill only others, leaving more room for us, why then, that's okay, and, they would be acceptable--right?

But, when it gets around to killing us, why then, "Hey! That's not right!" -- ay?
