Playing around with smooth noise functions using an addressable RGB LED strip from Adafruit, controlled by an Arduino. All of these modes are scaled to give smooth motion, so no more than 50 ms processing per step.
First up is Perlin noise. Umm... it's slow. 10 ms per LED, so only five LEDs and only one colour.
Next is simplex noise. Much faster, hence ten LEDs and full colour.
Then simplex noise on six LEDs and cubic interpolation to fill in the gaps between those LEDs. That's more like it.
