  • @CRTV1982 -- Right.

Gun controll is using both hands.

  • @CRTV1982 As to "The First Article" or "Article I," no. No one calls it The First Article, it's hits the ear wrong. Is it an innocent mistake? Yes. Does saying it make you dumb or lesser in any way? No. Was I a dick about it? Of course. Just a piece of advice, call it Article I from now on...you'll sound more scholarly.

  • @CRTV1982 Look, I'm not saying that one of us is right or one of us is wrong. There isn't that much textual language in the commerce clause, that's a part of the Constitution that's up for debate. As to the state telling you that you have to have health insurance? Yep, if you run a business you have to serve people of color no matter what your opposition is. If you're unfortunate enough to be 18 during a draft the state can make you serve in the military, despite no textual authorization.

  • @CRTV1982 There's nothing you can show me to say conclusively what the commerce clause means, there's plenty of people smarter than you or I or anyone legal scholars that we read that think that the healthcare law is perfectly reasonable. Akhil Reed Amar, one of the foremost Constitutional scholars in the country, and the conservative DC Court of Appeals upheld it. What, all these people who have more education than you and I ever will just missed your little point?

  • @CRTV1982 Yeah, and the rights to bear arms never meant to cover assault weapons or handguns, yet here we are. It was also meant to give citizens guns so that they can prevent tyranny, but since it's impossible for anyone, let alone untrained citizens, to take on the military...there goes that. So I guess the Second Amendment is useless then based on the standards that the founders wrote right? Wrong, the Constitution was written to adapt to the challenges a nation faces

  • @the82spartans Funny thing, when that happened in Kennesaw, GA crime became non-existent. Why don't the gun control nazis go that way considering that they are "just trying to make us safe"? It seems to me that firearm ownership mandates work alot better than gun control for stopping crime.

  • @HurricaneTBag tell me I have to have insurance. It is not a right for people to get things that they think they need from the government because they were too lazy to work and earn it. And yes you can refer to Article I as the First Article, so claiming that is a gaffe or incoherent is just plain stupid or dishonest, I have not figured out which one you are yet.

  • @HurricaneTBag And that clause does not grant that authority. One, NONE of our founders EVER put laws out like that. Two, when it was written regulate meant "to keep regular", nothing what it means today. Three, what it means is that the Federal government just acts as a mediator in interstate trade disputes to make sure that one State does not make different rules for different States. As for "positive rights" what exactly do you mean by that. I don't consider it a right for the gov to

  • @CRTV1982 Were ignoring Article I (it's called Article I, not the First Article) with an individual mandate? Can you even articulate a coherent defense of your opinion. What? The Constitution doesn't allow for positive rights? Ask Ollie's Bar-B-Que or anyone that ever got drafted. Lrn2CommerceClause

  • @HurricaneTBag Well, we are ignoring the Constitution on the First Article with the individual mandate why stop there? Look you are taking her words out of context. She is simply stating that if Congress is going to ignore the Constitution on that, why can't we do it in areas the DNC does not like? If you are going to pick and choose which parts of the Constitution you are going to follow then there is NO Constitution.
