    Actually, both were made in the 60s. The Mach GoGoGo original manga debuted in June 1966 in Japan, with the anime adaptation starting in April 1967. Surprisingly, the version that reached American audiences wasn't far behind the release of the original, so Mach GoGoGo, Americanized into Speed Racer, began in the United States in September 1967.

    No it was made in Japan for Japan in the 60s. Imported to US and translated in the 70s.
