  • Uhh, nice review, cept you were wrong about the purifier vs. filter thing. Almost ALL water FILTERS will filter out viruses and protozoa such as giardia, and crypto.

  • @UTUBELO Some water filters can filter out viruses and such, but a good majority do not. Protozoa, girardia, and crypto are the main ones that filters can get, but viruses are smaller and require a much finer filter or purification. My MSR filter is .2 mirons and will not filter out viruses.

  • where did you find this i have been looking for one cant find it anywhere if you could tell me where you got it would be nice thanks

  • @goodnightChesty1775

I believe I got it from either amazon or an online surplus and survival store. I'm sorry I don't remember where though.

  • Sitting indoor and talking about outdoor items..

  • @tunfalk Yes. It is a much better filming environment than outdoors. I am going to post some videos of outdoor usage in the future if I have time.

  • RIDICULOUSLY COMPLEX !! I have a UV Serii-Pen (less than a minute using standard rechargable batts AA or AAA) ... And I have both Aqua-Mira tablets (one per liter) and Katadyne and Aquamira filters, from Ranger-Straws up to Base Camps. I also carry Chlorox and a (wood or esbit or alchohol) stove system.

And, I am about to add potassium permanganate crystals, which only takes a few tiny crystals per liter. The MIOX system, described here is just "silly" complex .. dependent ... no effin way

  • @UTUBELO I'm sorry, but you have been misinformed. A microfilter can only filter bacteria down to one micron. Which is is sufficient for use outdoors in the US. To eleminate virises you need a purifier. Bleach, iodine, Miox solution, or UV light, are the most reconized way of killing or sterilizing virises so they can't reproduce. You can also boil water for 5 min to be safe. If you are wondering which is nastier, a virise can infect a bacteria.

  • Or just buy a Steripen and make your life much easier.

  • does it make the water taste salty?

  • What about volume of water, do you use the same solution for a gallon? Or increase the wait time?

  • 9 minutes for that!!!!!

  • @solobackpacking I already said the same thing as you many posts back. People will buy it because capitalism thrives on the ignorant and uninformed.
