Psycho Dentist - Gordon Trent Austin - Georgia

A grand jury in Carroll County, Georgia returned a 12-count indictment, including three felonies, against Carrollton oral surgeon Dr. Gordon T Austin, alleging he assaulted patients under sedation.

Dr. Gordon Trent Austin, 55, of Carrollton faced nine counts of simple battery, two of aggravated assault and one of first-degree child cruelty in the indictment.

This dentist would perform oral surgery without enough anesthesia and then would hit his patients in the face with a heavy metal object if they screamed in pain or tried to resist. He would also yell at them to "stop that" and to "shut up."

Three former dental assistants have come forward as witnesses to these events. Including a brave lady named Melanie Head.

Authorities added to the number of victims in the case. Gordon Trent Austin was indicted by a Carroll County grand jury in June 2009 on more charges, which include aggravated assault, two counts of cruelty to children and three counts of simple battery. According to the June indictments, Austin is accused of slapping a girl, who was under the age of 18, on the head during surgery. Another girl, who was also under 18, was allegedly struck by Austin with a metal object, causing her head to swell, according to the indictment.

Austin previously pleaded guilty to misdemeanor obstruction of justice after he was arrested in November 2001 on felony charges of first degree forgery and falsifying documents.

More and more victims of Dr. Austin have come forward.

UPDATE: Gordon Trent Austin, appearing in Carroll County Superior Court before Judge John Simpson, was sentenced to serve five years of probation after pleading guilty to six counts of theft by taking for submitting false claims to Medicaid.

Austin was also required to pay more than $10,000 in fines and fees.

Part of the terms of the plea agreement, Carroll County Assistant District Attorney Anne Allen said, was that if Austin pleaded guilty to six counts of theft by taking and agreed not to practice in the county, then the state would not pursue the two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of cruelty to children and eight counts of simple battery the oral surgeon had been previously indicted on by a grand jury.

Without Austins agreement to give up practicing dentistry under the terms of the plea, Allen said, she was unable to be assured by the states dentistry board that he would have had his license revoked, even if the case had gone to trial and he had been convicted on all counts.

This coward had to plea bargain instead of taking the stand.

UPDATE: In January 2010, the Georgia Board of Dentistry finally revoked this coward's license.

What's funniest are the trollers attempting to accuse the victims of wanting money. As if the THREE DENTAL ASSISTANTS that risked their jobs as witnesses hold no credibility. Nor the scores of people after the statute of limitations was over, who went to the police asking for no money or publicity, just to stop this psycho.

I almost lost my life to a dds unlicensed to have control substances. Rather than honor a "free" crown replacement he drilled thru destroying my molar. He stated he owed me nothing. He emptied a foul smelling liquid in my mouth. Deathly sick he informed my DR not to treat me as I was a hypochondriac. 3 days later I was on life support w/septic shock. All my organs exited my body for 2 yrs till a great surgeon repaired me. Hang in there, we are out here, tho no one wants to hear the ddstry truth.

This monster of a person, put me in a 7 week coma and killed my baby that i was 6 1/2 months pregnant with. I TRYED suing back in 2001, like this has just ended, he paid off my local attorney( THomas Rego, who is now dead from bone cancer) and i got dropped 7 weeks b4 my statute of limatitions ran out.
