k-lite codec pack is useful and you can even watch mp4 files on windows media player.

Okay, I have a question about CCCP: Does it have the Intel ITU H.264 (H264) codec? I am trying to play and edit a video in .avi but it says I need that particular codec.

Ita plays i think most of the files and has all the codes. PLays broken .avi files plus more!

Oh joy i just remembered what else i was going to say, you know how you had the file extensions reset so they always showed, well you can just change .nfo to .txt. and it should open the instructions in notepad. :D
