  • yal need to be careful cutting cats off it can mess up the backpressure of the engine and screw it up, u need to keep at least 2 cats on it

  • @redneksk8er "back pressure" is a myth. and....on that truck i had high flow cats

  • @f150man55 back pressure is not a myth, its part of the function of an engine

  • @redneksk8er then why do race cars run without mufflers and converters, so there is no restriction or.."backpressure"

  • @f150man55 the racecars still have backpressure, but doesnt need muffler or cats for it because it depends how the engine is set up, my 1988 f250 has a 460 engine in it, it doesnt have muffler or cats, but it still has backpressure, all engines do, i gurantee if you get your 150 , cut the cats and mufflers off, get on the interstate and lay into it, you will blow up your engine or screw it up somehow, it all depends how the engine is built and set up

  • @redneksk8er why would your engine still have back pressure without mufflers or converters and mine wouldnt?

  • @JMoney5251 who the hell said i spent thousands? converters 65.10 each, ghetto rigged H pipe 15, tips 35 each.

no where close to a thousand, and if i just cut the muffler off it would sound like shit and wouldnt have been this loud.

    and i would use a sawzall :)

  • i have an 01 with a 4.6. i took the muffler off and ran a pipe out the side. it sounds the exact same and i still have both original cats, and it cost 10 bucks and took 20 minutes....

  • @f150man55

    nascar run headers and mufflers

your front 2 cats are pre-cats you need those. they do the air fuel ratio.

  • @redneksk8er i was real careful in cuting the cat off my truck. i wore gloves

  • just because you take the converters and mufllers off an engine doesnt mean that it takes away the back pressure, its still there, it would just suck in too much air and effect the way your engine runs. so your engine will still have backpressure without mufflers or cats

  • @f150man55 you dont seem to undrstand, ALL ENGINES HAVE BACK PRESSURE, the way older and some bigger engines are built and set up, you dont need the resistance of mufflers and cats, newer vehicles have cats and mufflers because its the law to have them. ALL engines have backpressure, the engine sucks in air with the rotation of the pistons, mufflers and cats add resistance that makes the right amount of air get sucked back into the engine, take those away, your engine can suck in too much air
