Trooping the Colour 2011 -Highlights- [HD]

Trooping the colour 2011, the official celebration of Her Majesty the Queen's 85th birthday. Over 1400 soldiers are on parade, plus 200 horses and over 400 musicians of the foot guards and mounted bands of the household cavalry.

Rund 1.400 Soldaten paradieren zu Ehren von Queen Elizabeth II., die eigentlich schon am 21. April 85. Geburtstag hatte. Begleitet werden sie von über 400 Trommlern und Musikern der vereinigten Musikkapellen der Garde-Regimenter.

I never quite understood why they have slipcovers over their L85 and their Euphonium. That looks so ugly. The L85 isn't even a good looking weapon for parading. Good thing that the German Wachbataillon still uses the Mauser Kar 98.

Leider würde eine solche Parade bei uns doch schon als militaristisch gelten,leider.

Ich habe hier in Münster lange Jahre die britische Militärmusikschau miterleben dürfen-grossartig--von Militärsound bis Swing und Jazz alles dabei und brilliante Schaubilder, eben Vollprofis.

Unseren britischen Freunden wünsche ich Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
