On May 3rd the inaugural King and Queen of the Cone took place at Mt. Bachelor in Bend, Oregon.
Competitors ascended either 2000 vertical feet (rec division) or 4000 vertical feet (race division). First place in the race division was taken by Brandon French with a time of 1:15.23. First place in the race division on the women's side went to Molly Grove with a time of 1:39.25. First place in the rec division went to John Williamson with a time of 1:04.23. First place in the rec division on the women's side went to Kate Doucette with a time of 1:22.14.
At the end of this video are the policies in place at Mt. Bachelor in regard to uphill traffic. Following these guidelines and the requests of ski patrol will ensure that skinning remains permitted at Mt. Bachelor. The guidelines are in place to ensure safety of skinners, Mt. Bachelor downhill guests and staff.
The King and Queen of the Cone was a very successful event and together we can ensure that uphill traffic on the downhill ski area can continue to be accomodated. Have fun, be safe and respect ski patrol as they work to keep us all safe. Enjoy the video.
