Any carbon based sunscreen ingredients will break down in the presence of UV rays - these are 'organic' ingredients like avobenzone,octisalate,octinoxate...basically anything in the 'active ingredients' list that is not zinc or titanium means they are carbon based (organic) ingredients. As a sunscreen and for protection from UV, inorganic is the only way to go.
