I hadn't seen Anthem before - but the scream in Ferris Bueller is also similar to Viola's "Spaces between the Teeth"

I just saw Spaces and it makes me think that John Hughes' DP was a Bill Viola fan or else both were in the same thrall, same penchant for visual gags that wax romantic.
