I too really like this version of this song. The Tommy Fleming version is so commercial it overtook my facebook posting. This version is pure and simple, and a testament to Mary Black in her interpretation of good music. Awesome. Peace be with you.

There are many great versions of this song, Mavis Staples maybe at top of the list, but this one may be her sternest competition. No coincidence I fear that it is the Irish and the descendants of Africans brought to this land in chains that feel it most deeply. Thanks for a great post, unavailable anywhere else.
