James Taylor Steamroller Ottawa Bluesfest 2008

James Taylor — Steamroller Blues lyrics
James Taylor
Well, I'm a steamroller, baby
I'm bound to roll all over you
Yes, I'm a steamroller now, baby
I'm bound to roll all over you
I'm gonna inject your soul with some sweet rock 'n roll
And shoot you full of rhythm and blues
Well, I'm a cement mixer
A churning urn of burning funk
Yes, I'm a cement mixer for you, baby
A churning urn of burning funk
Well, I'm a demolition derby (yeah)
A hefty hunk of steaming junk
Now, I'm a napalm bomb, baby
Just guaranteed to blow your mind
Yeah, I'm a napalm bomb for you, baby
Oh, guaranteed, just guaranteed to blow your mind
And if I can't have your love for my own (now)
Sweet child, won't be nothing left behind
It seems how lately, baby
Got a bad case of steamroller blues

  • Awww, come on. He dont no nuttin bout no blues caus he aint got no soul caus he ain't nevr sung in no black chor an mos of al he white!

  • that vocal stuff at 1:20 is way deeper and funkier and really so very, very much bluesier than just about anything anybody trying to play blues today is putting out..... and he's just messing around. just listen and recognize.

  • He wrote the song, I think he should know better than anyone how it ought to be done.

  • @stubbyt34 It's cool. James did write it, it was a boost to his credit when Elvis did cover it.

    Happy New Year Stubbyt34

  • @bofusnco well when i made the comment i was thinking that Elvis wrote it, or someone wrote for him. nevermind. The version on james taylor's greatest hits cd is the best.

  • @stubbyt34 You don't think what? That he wrote the song or that he messed it up.

He did indeed write the song, therefore he can play it however he wants. Some versions may be better than others in one's own humble opinion, this statement is also, my humble opinion

  • @bofusnco i don't think he did.

  • @Wespjr looks like it.

  • @Force666666 haha love it! That would be a sight to see!

  • @ericco79 yeah....I love his neo-classical stuff. He sweeps like no one els. I heard he might join Megadeth or Racer-X.
