For me, the wheels don't turn unless I connect the little pink object to them. Why is this?

@AdvaitSarkar The wheels only turn if there is a water or wood rod connected to their centers

why is it wrong? Its just a different way to make it and it works very well when done correctly, just check out my videos of all the levels in fantastic contraption.
