  • At least the song's composer Alan Menken can console himself with the eight Academy Awards -- that's right, EIGHT! -- he's already won over the course of his career. For those who don't know, he won Best Song and Best Score for The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin & Pocahontas and he's been nominated 19 times!

  • If any consolation Alan Menken (the song’s composer) isn’t hurting for Oscars. He’s tied for the most nominations in the history of the motion picture academy and has won multiple times over the course of his career.

  • "Man or Muppet" gets nominated -- but this one does not??? WTF??? Let me guess the reason: there's a line in the song that goes, "who'll kick the krauts to Japan."

  • I can not believe this didn't get nominated. And what's worse is that there are only two nominations for Best Original Song! They need more nominations, and this should DEFINITELY be one of them. It's so well done! I can't believe this wasn't made in the 1940s. "Man or Muppet" and "Real in Rio" are both great songs, but "Star Spangled Man" takes the cake.

  • Thumbs up if you're mad this didn't get nominated for an oscar

  • @thEannoyingE pressing the black and white button on your digital camera.

  • This was incredible(the song) The film was pretty good too. However the one thing that briefly took me out of the film was in this sequence of the film it cuts to them filming a pro-American propaganda war film in black and white. The only problem is that they did what most modern film makes do when it comes to shooting in B+W: They filmed it in color and digitally made it black and white and then added digital pops and scratches in the "film" to make it look old. This is the same as

  • @cha5 I didn't know he died :(

  • @MrGabeanator real credible source right there. More credible than the Academy itself in fact.
