When composing music for The Tenth Doctor's last scene with Rose, Murray Gold wrote an orchestral version of "Song For Ten", the song played near the end of "The Christmas Invasion". However, producer Julie Gardner thought that 'Rose's Theme" would be more appropriate for the scene.
I have roughly applied 'Song For Ten (Reprise)' to the original scene. Unfortunately, i was unable to leave the original voices in while taking out "Rose's Theme" for a proper comparison.
Which one do you think would've worked best? Leave a comment below.
Rose's Theme works much better in the scene because it serves to introduce Rose without actually giving her name since the piece of music is so well associated with the character. Moreso than Song for Ten which was heard only once and in a completely different version.

@saskabush2006 I suspect that's why Julie Gardner was so adamant that Rose's Theme be used. Song For Ten is a little less about Rose and her character, which, you're right, is what was needed to explain her relationship with both 9 & 10, not just 10.
