Bomb Blast in Sialkot Masjid-e-Zainabia

On 1st October 2004, Friday (15 Shaabaan), after the Friday prayers, a young boy of 22 years entered the mosque with a briefcase in his hands. He placed the briefcase in 3rd or 4th row and pushed a button, and then there was a severe blast.
The blast claimed 34 sacred lives and more than 100 were injured.
Consequently, more than 26 women became widows and more than 60 children became orphans.

The role of SUNNI community of Sialkot was very cooperative, sociable, helpful, responsive and constructive. Once again, Sunni community proved that Shia & Sunni are United.

More than 10,000 Shia & Sunni brothers participated in the joint Namaz-e-Janaza of 9 Martyrs at Sialkot Railway Station.

Shaheed Foundation Pakistan came forward and supported affected families in the best possible way. We appreciate the efforts of Shaheed Foundation Pakistan.

We salute those who sacrificed their sacred lives for the dignity of Islam.
