Bannedstory- Animation Tutorial

Twame describes how to do animation with bannedstory and neopaint.

Hey again guys, you always have tons of questions, and bannedstory is always getting updated, so im just gonna make an FAQ.

FAQ (Frequently asked questions)

*Note that the version of bannedstory used in the video is extremely outdated, please download the newer version at maplesimulator.com, it will still work with this tutorial*
Q: Where is the red plus?
A: Right under the cutout style, where it says solid and transparent. Its kinda hard to find, but its there.

Q: After I use neograb, the red plus dissapears! Why?
A: Well, you just maximized a new picture, so it won't show the options for an animated gif. After you copy the image, press CTRL + W to close out of the captured image and back to your gif, the + should be back.

Q: I looked and I looked, but the red plus isn't there! WHY?
A: You probably didn't make a animated gif, press CTRL + N, or File, New, and make sure the picture type is animated GIF.

Q: Where do I get backgrounds like I see in your animations?
A: I have alot of backgrounds, so I made a page for them all, right here!

Q: How do I use the backgrounds in my animations?

Q: My bannedstory version is different. Why?
A: This is an old tutorial and bannedstory has updated to include many new features, including skills. Download it at http://www.maplesim.com/downloads.html

Q: Can you animate with other programs?
A: Yeah, neopaint is just the easiest and has a great interface. Some others are Gimp, Photoshop, Flash, or Ulead GIF animator.

Q: How do you get your animations on youtube?
A: Use a movie making program like windows movie maker or sony vegas, and import your animation. Add sound, titles, whatever you want, then export or save movie as a .wmv, and upload it here.

Q: Where do I get sony vegas?
A: You can download a free trial here http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/step2.asp?DID=736

Q: My neopaint expired... what do I do now?
A: Well, you can now legally get the free version because Neosoft no longer supports Neopaint. So when your trial expires, hit register and enter this code:

Q: Where can I get maplestory music like you use in your videos?
A: I found a good place, but I do not take credit for anything on this site.

Q: How do I download the music on tha site?
A: If your on firefox, right click and do save link as, if your on internet explorer, right click and save target as.

The video is basically animating, cutting, pasting, and experimenting. Now that you've learned that, try making your char jump, or fight, be creative! Edit in skills, make it bigger, experiment, and create! Of course if you need a place to share it all, there is the bannedstory forums!

Hi, can u pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee tell me how to save it as a VIDEO cuz when i save it and try to upload it, it keep saying its just pictures

@TheUnknownCoIor yeah, you HAVE to put it in some video editing software first. you should have windows movie maker on your computer, just put your .GIF file in there and then export the movie file. you should be able to upload that to youtube

Man,onyl the thing who appear in my untitled and my captured image is the stupid palette of colours,answer me why!

@gakalo1 make sure you're hitting the "capture rectangular reigon" button, instead of some other button. then it should lead you to a screen where you can chop out a certain section of the screen by selecting a part of the screen. once you have that, you should be able to take a section of your bannedstory window

@maplestory70 Well eehhh its actually like i saved all the frames in neopaint to a video alrdy.But when i try to upload it, it says its frames and i should go to windows movie maker.I didn't get what youtube meant so i put the video in window movie maker, and it just shows the first frame from beginning to ending
