IMO, Kevin Smith nailed why Anakin was like that, when he said that the big evil guy isn't gonna start out as some noble, somber, humble guy, but a kid with some major issues, which I think Hayden portrayed very well. He really dosen't get enough credit for his role as Anakin. I think he did great.

Nope they shouldn't have. I have a list of good actors who could've played Anakin better. Any of the main stars from 10 Things I Hate About You. Two of which have already starred or are starring as The Joker and (allegedly) Cobra Commander. I did like Hayden's role in Life As A House but it irks me how a young Anakin is perceived as being whiny. When did you ever see a race car driver in any galaxy act like that?
