His Holiness the Dalai Lama meets with members of the press at Zenkoji Temple in Nagano, Japan, on June 19th, 2010. Except for a short statement in Tibetan at the beginning, His Holiness's remarks are in English followed by a Japanese translation. (www.dalailama.com)

  • @bullettrain777

Tibetan and Chinese do not resemble at all.

  • The second questioner didn't say his belonging. He said, 私は한민족.

  • This is the first time I hear His Holiness the Dalai Lama make a speech in Tibetan. To me, the sound of Tibetan resembles that of Chinese. Indeed both of them are tone languages. The Japanese translator is translating both Tibetan and English. I respect her.
