I agree with everything you've said. Seriously. Microsoft are bitches.

A good way to see the difference between the OS's is to look at the developers.
BSD - young, smart nerds
GNU/Linux - nerds in general
Solaris - corporate nerds
Apple - nerds who get girls
MS - THUGS!!
really. BG (& co) is a thug with glasses, not a nerd.

@SamueltehG33k that code is unrealable, why dont you think they're isnt a forked project?

But not Aqua or cocoa, which is really the feature that make OSX what it is. Without those it might as well be another *BSD distro.

@brandon35335 I agree in large. I am on linux, have still to try BSD and Mac, but linux rules. Now if we could just get PCs not infected with windows I would be perfectly satisfied.

for me, windows it the OS that makes me want to take bill gates and throw him of the edge of the world, Mac is amazing and smooth, BSD is good, Linux is great

@truesivad OpenDarwin BSD is the base of OSX. However Apple bought the project so now you can't really DL a iso for OpenDarwin;. You have to go through hoops fetching individual files and lines of code in order to build you own OpenDarwin ISO. (Apples way of sticking it to the GPL)
You can DL PureDarwin, Although the project has been stagnant for a few years now.

@SamueltehG33k nerds are better than geeks, because today, thanks to d-bag magazines like (fake) "iLove *insert d-bag band name here* Band And Listen To It 24/7," a geek is just somebody who open and listens to music on iTunes. (example: Chris Pirillo (He doesn't even know how to program!)), and a nerd actually does do something geeky like installing FreeBSD on a partition, yet preserving the Windows bootloader, but later replace NTLDR with GLDR.

freeBSD is supposed to be based on Mac OSX right?
"The operating system(osx) is very very open source..." BULLSHIT

Somebody has to go out and say this: NERD. (I'm a nerd myself, but jeez... You kick my ass in nerddom. Writer first, nerd second, for me I guess. >_>)

You didn't like freeBSD because you had to install X and whatever desktop environment you wanted? I'm going to have to ask you to turn in your geek card. If you don't like that PC-BSD uses KDE, then swap it out for XFCE or something. It isn't much (or any really) different than doing the same in Linux.
Also, Linux is UNIX-like so the two have a lot in common. You should be able to jump straight into a terminal without any worries.

thanks bro :D that made it a lot easier and BTW GNU and UNIX are very different its only freeBSD thats more GNU like use OpenBSD or DragonflyBSD you'll see what i mean
