Feb 2008, Martin Lacey owner and ringmaster of the Great British Circus, listen to him here violently and verbally attacking a BBC news reporter.

If he loses his temper this easily and is like this with people, what is he like with the animals ??

And also Martin Lacey also got a warning from Trading standards recently for moving animals during the foot and mouth outbreak in 2007 when he wasn't allowed to.

Shame on Lacey, not only is he an animal abuser he also finds it acceptable to put people in danger too.

Everyone can see how easily Mr Lacey loses his temper in a rage and becomes violent and foul mouthed.

If he is like this with a BBC reporter, what is he like with the animals when no-one is looking? - I think we know the answer to that one.

He cannot be trusted if he blows his top so easily.

As for the RSPCA, they are against all animal circuses this is clearly stated on their website and has been their policy for many years

@madyamman That comment barely makes sense, but hitting on the "Seaworld" remark, you are encouraging cruelty visiting these places. Orcas are not designed to be kept in tiny pools, that is why they live in the SEA and not LAKES.

I definitely don't support animals as entertainment esp. circuses...but I do believe some animals enjoy being athletes and competing...it's all down to how they are treated, & whether they are given dignity, respect and kindness, which unfortunately is not going to be seen in circuses, because the culture of the circus and training the animals is via spirit breaking & submission through cruelty. Why else is this guy so mad!? Because the more fragile and idea is, the more violent its supporters.

i don't think keeping anything in a cage is right, but if this man is really abusing these animals, they would attack. if you see pictures of his face up close, he has quite a bit of scars, but they are minuscule, not even close to a lions capabilities. i don't think any form of capturing is right. but if people have a circus, they have a circus, if these animals are truly unhappy with their lives, they would show it. zoo's are fucked up too. only rehabilitation centers are okay.

i think all this controversy is ridiculous the press have sped all this shit about the circus, ive recently been and was astonished at how well groomed and treated all the animals were and would happily recommend it, being an animal lover and want to make a career with the rspca, i think these people are trying to shine a light on how well animals can be used and treted times have changed people were not all bastards to animals!
