  • Great video! I think we all don't think of how lucky a lot of us are in this world to be healthy and being in a country that has good medical care and food. There are many places in the world that are way less fortunate.

  • great video.

  • @GoldenFinchFellow That's why compassion for what those people go through is important and this quote is useful pointing to there's more to life then just the material things, we can use what we do have to improve life in general not just for our selves. An other cheezy one for you, highly related (; "happiness is something found not sought" If they're ability to live is taken and they're stuck in conflict you can give energy to that situation to improve it. Or nahh we're all just doomed!

  • @EllyMcCormack I agree, like I said "when something builds to a degree of that much caused social neglect I believe its different angle, no one would be happy dieing of starvation obviously..." Oppressed person in danger is grateful they have a gun I bet.. A situation where your ability to live is taken away is different, often fighting is not something enjoyable though they would attain some degree of necessities, people get drawn into conflict to protect themselves/families/friends they value?

  • @GoldenFinchFellow "and despite their suffering and lack of material things they enjoy family, they have ideas and values not material things. " Who are you talking about? Anecdotes and clichés are a poor substitute for the truth.

  • @GoldenFinchFellow "if they acted to be angry or pain about the situation I would say that is being grateful of your body and attempting to break the cycle that creates the injustice" to answer your question cause its a good one... I'm saying no they are not ungrateful because they have nothing, If they look sad to me its that they can't sustain them self in that situation and do not want to be dependent but are accepting the situation and trying to heal. Peace

  • @EllyMcCormack I thought you asked a genuine question. I also didn't say they are "more loving" or "become loving" I'm pointing to> when you see them with family, the people they rely on to survive day to day(that is a different frame then them needing and accepting help from an outsider) they are happy with each other. The quote is pointing to the fact that there is more to life then just the material things. It makes it no less sad their situation or that they need our compassion.

  • @EllyMcCormack I didn't say that at all and I'm not looking for an argument just sharing my perspective.. I point to when you see the mass suffering that frame of their life where they are dieing and in desperate need of help that is not the life that every family leads day to day and despite their suffering and lack of material things they enjoy family, they have ideas and values not material things. i'm saying they appreciate the material help more... and are still loving despite the pain.

  • @GoldenFinchFellow "poor families where their health is effected they are often really happy and loving with each other " So when families are physically sick, they become happy and loving people? Are you on crack?

  • @EllyMcCormack when something builds to a degree of that much caused social neglect I believe its different angle, no one would be happy dieing of starvation obviously... if they acted to be angry or pain about the situation I would say that is being grateful of your body and attempting to break the cycle that creates the injustice. When you see daily life of poor families where their health is effected they are often really happy and loving with each other and appreciate things more.
