Esther always respected his rules. She did tell them all to go on a fast for 3 days JUST to pace herself because she knew she was gonna break a rule like Vashti who dishonored him. The fast was not for her life, it was to make sure Xerxes understood of why she went against what she said she wouldn't do ...dishonor.
